Hydrogen Infrastructure Leader GenH2 Sponsors 24th Joint Cryogenic Engineering and International Cryogenic Materials Conference in Honolulu, HI July 9-13, 2023

Annual Conference Features Cryogenic-Related Industry Research and Development

Titusville, FL, July 06, 2023 — GenH2, a leader in hydrogen infrastructure solutions, announced today that the company is a sponsor of the CEC/ICMC23 2023 Cryogenic Engineering Conference and International Cryogenic Materials Conference, taking place at the Hawai’i Convention Center in Honolulu, Hawaii from July 9-13, 2023. The annual conference features a robust program of cryogenic-related topics, including industry research and development.

“We are proud to participate in this important event where the top minds in the industry come together,” said Greg Gosnell, CEO of GenH2. “We are looking forward to collaborating with our peers and colleagues at the conference, which is known for its thought-provoking environment, lively discussions, shared experiences, and collaboration.”

GenH2’s Executive Vice President and Chief Architect, James Fesmire, who is an inductee of the NASA Inventors Hall of Fame for developments in cryogenics, materials, and energy technologies, will be an invited Speaker and Session chair at the conference. With 35+ years of experience in cryogenics and low-temperature problem-solving and specializing in all aspects of liquid hydrogen storage and transfer, Fesmire leads GenH2’s team of cryogenic engineering specialists. He is also a GenH2 founder and was the founder of the Cryogenics Test Laboratory at NASA Kennedy Space Center for novel energy technology and materials research.

“CEI-ICMC is an important component of advancing research and development into the cryogenics that impact the development and deployment of hydrogen infrastructure solutions,” said Fesmire. “I am thrilled that GenH2 is recognizing the importance of the event with a sponsorship that will allow scientists and students to attend and share their own impactful research. I’m also honored to have been personally invited to present.”

Fesmire will be joined by Dr. Jong Baik, Chief Technology Officer at GenH2, Dr. Martha K. Williams, Senior Technical Advisor, Marco Guerrero, Product Development Engineer, and Peter Higgins, Lead Mechanical / Fluid Systems Engineer, at the CEC/ICMC23 Conference. Fesmire, Guerrero and Higgins will also present technology sessions on the following topics:

  • [Invited] Simulation test platform for LH2 controlled storage/transfer (James Fesmire)
  • Mobile hydrogen liquefaction and storage system (Marco Guerrero)
  • Design and applications of small-scale industrial hydrogen liquefaction and refrigeration (Peter Higgins)
  • [Invited] Design, configuration, and thermal optimization of advanced cryostats (Co-Author, James Fesmire)
  • Vacuum Pump-Down of the Annular Insulation Space for Large Field-Erected Liquid Hydrogen Storage Tanks (Co-Author, James Fesmire)

“We are focusing on the importance of small-scale liquid hydrogen solutions because currently only large-scale equipment is readily available in the market,” added Baik. “It is much harder and more complicated to develop small-scale liquid hydrogen solutions, but it is necessary for providing new hydrogen mobility solutions, such as cars, trucks and aviation, which is why GenH2’s leadership in small-scale liquid hydrogen is so impactful to the hydrogen economy.
