The Answer is Hydrogen

The Ultimate Power Source

With the world becoming increasingly more aware of the importance of reducing carbon emissions, countless actions have been taken in recent years to help prevent further increases in GHG. The biggest target by far has been the automobile industry, as they produce the most plentiful fossil fuel-powered vehicles worldwide. With 1.4 billion cars currently active, and each person consuming an average of 656 gallons of gas every year, the worldwide consumption of fossil fuels using automobiles amounts to a colossal 918.4 billion gallons annually. Considering the fact that fossil fuels are limited, and these numbers increasing as the population grows, there is a desperate need for an alternative. In this case, hydrogen is the ultimate solution for a clean energy future.

It’s important to first acknowledge the success of the electric vehicle, as it does significantly cut down on GHG emissions. However, it is not a zero-emission system, nor is it renewable or more efficient than fossil fuels. EVs demand long charging times, are affected by extreme weather conditions, and get far less distance than an internal combustion engine. Paired with the fact that EVs require lithium, which is also a limited resource, they do an excellent job of reducing emissions but fall short in efficiency and renewability.

Hydrogen is ultimately the best choice for a clean future. Not only can it refuel at the same speed as fossil fuels, but it is cheaper, far more fuel-efficient, creates 3x’s more onboard energy and produces zer0-emissions. Paired with the fact that hydrogen is completely renewable, the opportunities for hydrogen infrastructure are limitless. With this technology presently available, the time is now for a change in fuel.
